Description
A puddle, window, mirror, or dish of water near you has stopped reflecting the sky â it reflects somewhere else entirely. About 45 minutes.
Every challenge has its own word â it's your entry signature, so the piece is clearly made fresh for this one. This challenge's word is ECHO.
Steps
- Find a reflective surface â a puddle, a window, a mirror, a dish of water. Photograph it clean, with a handwritten note showing the word ECHO in frame. This is your "before".
- Replace only the reflection with a completely different place â a desert, a beach, deep space, another city. Everything around the reflection stays as you shot it.
- Match the original's light and perspective â if the surface warped the reflection in the original, the new world warps the same way.
- Add one small hint that spills out of the reflection â a grain of sand, a sudden leaf, a wet footprint from the other side.
What to Submit
Before and after images, with the ECHO note visible in both. In the notes:
where it leads | <one line â where does your portal go?>
spill | <the detail that escaped>
â ī¸ Important
- Hand-made only â no AI. If AI is part of how you work, skip this one.
- Only the reflection changes â the rest stays real.
- Both shots use the same surface, same framing, taken by you.
Make sure you can deliver before claiming â you're committing to complete it.
